Crysanthemum 03:26
One lone Chrysanthemum In your window, so I know he's gone So we can be alone I thought you ought to know I only wanted to trample something beautiful A vase with only stems and one lone chrysanthemum I hope I can see you again I hope I see you again I love the way you look when your love is in bloom I love to watch him wilt when all you ask of him is to trust you I love the way it feels with your petals pinned beneath my boot you must like it too A vase with only stems and one lone chrysanthemum I hope I can see you again I hope I see you again

If I stopped to think of what's going on it would pass me by If nothing ever changed then why don't I feel the way I did before? If no one ever changes why does everyone I know grow apart? If people never change, then why? Lord make an exception for me Make me something more human than human, than me My eyes were fixed on someone else's dream That person was and still is not a reflection of me In my witching hour, I let it get the best of me Give me time and please forgive the man I used to be If nothing ever changed then why don't I feel the way I did before? If no one ever changes why does everyone I know grow apart? If people never change, then why? Lord make an exception for me Make me something more human than human, than me

about

I started building up this collection of synthesizers from the 80’s and 90’s back in 2014 and immediately began to shoehorn them into just about every FRENCHGIRLS song we were making at the time. At the beginning of this year, I got really obsessive about making these grandiose productions with a combination of guitars, bass, drums, drum machines, and my synth collection to a point where I just figured, “Why not make a few albums of this?” Recently, I’ve found myself being inspired by a lot more artists like Midge Ure, Gorillaz, Talking Heads, Blood Orange, The The, Tame Impala, and Prince. They have this crazy ambitious production style that taught me how to think of individual roles within a band as non-static and flexible vs confined to just the one instrument that each member plays. Its been a pretty liberating way to write and for right now, I’m really digging that style of arranging and producing. “Oddity" is kind of my way of finally turning in a few pages of overdue lab notes from a bunch of late nights in the studio this year.
